2009 Buddy Walk Sunday, May 17th, 2009 U of D Athletic Complex Noon – 3:00 PM
The Buddy Walk is a one-mile walk to promote the understanding, inclusion and acceptance of people with Down syndrome. More than 1.5 million people worldwide have participated in a Buddy Walk. On Sunday, May 17th, the DSA of Delaware will host the 6th Annual Buddy Walk at the University of Delaware. More than 1,500 people are expected to participate by walking, volunteering or collecting donations in the name of their Buddy or Team. Following the walk are free activities and entertainment for toddlers to teenagers. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and plan to spend the day with your Buddy or team.
For all the motorcycle enthusiasts, saddle up and join our Motorcycle Run, an hour celebratory ride prior to the walk. To participate, just register for the Buddy Walk and be sure to check the box for participation in the Motorcycle Run.
Win a trip to California for the 2009 National Down Syndrome Congress Convention in Sacramento, July 31 - August 2. A trip for two will be awarded to the team or Buddy who raises the most in registrations and donations. To be eligible, donations must be received by June 1st.
