From The Team Captain
Wow…has another year passed, already? We can’t believe it's Buddy Walk time again! On Sunday, May 16, we will be walking to support inclusion and acceptance for all people with Down syndrome.
Due to your generous love and support over the past three years, Princess Kayla's Court has raised nearly $25,000 and our team of “walkers” grew to nearly 100 people! Our goal is to raise $8,000 this year but we can't do that without your help! Any amount you can give is greatly appreciated! While we appreciate your contributions, the Buddy Walk is not just about the money...it's about raising awareness for people with Down syndrome. Opening the hearts and minds of others to respect and value people with Down syndrome is the reason we walk! Treating people with Down syndrome the same way you desire to be treated…with love and compassion.
We hope that you can walk with us this year! If you can't join us please consider making a donation to our team. Your donation is tax deductible and 100% of the money goes to the DSA of Delaware and helps fund educational programs and meetings for parents, people with Down syndrome, and the community.
Like any other typical three-year-old little girl, Kayla is smart, beautiful, dramatic, fun, and is the most amazing gift! She has taught us so much about life and loving; but most of all she has taught us to believe in her and never underestimate her abilities.
Would you be surprised to know that Kayla is learning to read? Or knows how to spell her name? She also knows where she lives, our phone number and the name of the President of the United States! Kayla’s passion is music…she loves singing every word to every Barney, Hi-5, and Doodlebops song!
We cannot thank you enough for your continued love and support! Your contribution and presence at the Buddy Walk will make a positive impact in the lives of people with Down syndrome. We look forward to supporting your favorite charities in the future!
We would like to extend our condolences to Team BCP on the loss of their Grampy. The Buddy Walk would not be the amazing event it is today without Team BCP…which was fueled by the kindness and loving heart of Grampy.
We hope to see you on May 16 for a fun-filled day…
Love,
Rick, Amy & Kayla
