The Down Syndrome Association of Delaware is proud to have a working relationship with both the Down Syndrome Clinic at AI duPont Children’s Hospital and the Adult Down Syndrome Clinic at Christiana Care’s Center for Special Health Care Needs. We truly value this partnership, as both clinics are highly beneficial resources for our families.

We provide both clinics:

  • Outreach support for new parents or those new to the area
  • Resources such as:
    • DSA of DE brochures
    • DSA of DE coming events calendars/information
    • Pre-Natal Information Packets
    • New Parent Packets (a welcome letter, Down Syndrome Parenting Book, a DS awareness magnet, DSA pen, several brochures and a onesie or bib)
    • New baby items such as DSA of DE onesies, bibs and bags
    • Books on topics such as:
      • Therapies
      • Puberty
      • Relationships
      • Parenting
      • Health/Medical Needs

Health Care Information for Families of Children with Down Syndrome – A healthcare guide, broken down by age, that provides valuable information pertaining to different age groups- a online printable PDF file that contains vital resources for families from the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Monthly MCO (MEDICAID Managed Care Organization) Call  – This call gives families a non-adversarial forum through which they can address concerns about the Medicaid Managed Care they have for their children with special health care needs. The families have an opportunity to share their concerns and ask questions. Through this method, many families have a better understanding of how the systems work. The providers and policymakers are able to hear how current rules and regulations impact families.

Down Syndrome Healthcare Guidelines Record Sheet – A extremely helpful guide that shows which tests and things to test for at what ages. We highly recommend you print and review this with your doctors to proper healthcare practices are taking place.
