Rock Your Socks
On Thursday, March 21 2019, the Down Syndrome Association of Delaware will be joining other schools and organizations around the world in celebrating WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY.
Please join our Facebook Group: Rock Your Socks – World Down Syndrome Day
Together we will create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome in our schools, community and around the world. 3/21, World Down Syndrome Day, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which leads to Down Syndrome.
The DSA of DE will again be supplying socks for your school or organization to distribute so that your group can show your support on 3/21. To order socks: please fill out the ORDER FORM before January 15. Socks will be distributed to your group’s representative on February 16 in Georgetown, DE OR on February 23 in Newark, DE. DSA of DE will supply the socks to your group to distribute for a price of $1.00 per pair and will collect payment after the event.
T-Shirts are also available for purchase, click HERE.
If you work with students within an educational or learning setting, view our Disability Awareness Toolkit. This toolkit includes videos, age specific lesson plans and other resources to promote disability awareness within your classroom.
One of our moms has also created lesson plans, available for purchase, which we highly recommend. View lesson plans.
